Bahian singer Pitty made a major appearance at Rock in Rio 2024, early Sunday (22), during the “Brazil Day”, dedicated to honoring national music. In a nostalgic show, the artist rocked the audience with hits such as “Equalize”, “Na Sua Estante” and “Me Adora”. Her presence was one of the most touching moments of the evening, which also featured performances from Capital Initial, Detonautas, NX Zero, Rogério Flausino and Toni Garrido.
The highlight of Pitty’s presentation was her speech which left the audience in awe and received applause. “This is the 40th anniversary of Rock in Rio and I remember this girl in Bahia watching it as a little girl, on a TV that didn’t even play properly, and imagining a place where people could really feel the music. It’s great to be on this stage today,” the singer said, moving the audience as she recalled the festival’s impact on her childhood and career.
In addition to the stunning performances, the night was also marked by tributes to national rock icons. Chorão, former lead singer of Charlie Brown Jr., and Cássia Eller are remembered, strengthening the legacy of Brazilian rock music over the past decades.
