“Enough slandering the law and justice and our voters,” PiS’s profile on the X platform read. The largest opposition party has filed reports with the prosecutor’s office regarding offensive statements, among others. KO to MEPs Krzysztof Brejza and Michał Szczerba, as well as to the organizers of the silent disco at Campus Polska Przyszłości.
While politicians and supporters of the parties that form the current ruling coalition like to accuse PiS of spreading hate or deepening political divisions in Poland, it is easy to see that “smiling Poland” also has a lot going on (there are scientific studies from 2019 that stated that supporters of the then opposition and the current government are more inclined to hate PiS supporters, sometimes even dehumanizing them, than the other way around).
After recent events such as the silent disco at Campus Polska Przyszłości, where young people enjoyed themselves with the song “J… PiS” by Cypis. The text of this “work”, as it is commonly known, is not very complicated, but it contains words such as: “There is strength in us, there is faith in us / And the PiS activists are out…” and “Hands off our women / God-fearing gang / Let’s all take to the streets / Shouting loudly today / Get out of this country”, which may also affect the voters of Law and Justice.
