The Petrobrás offshore platform in the Campos Basin, in Rio de Janeiro, suffered an unintentional tilt this afternoon, Saturday 21, while performing a maneuver. The information was released by the oil company’s own advisor.
The multinational explained that while performing stability maneuvers in the afternoon, the P-19 platform accidentally tilted. No employees were injured, there were no major problems and the situation is normal.

In a statement, the state-owned company said, “At around 12 noon on Saturday (21), while performing a stability maneuver, the platform accidentally tilted. The situation quickly returned to normal and the P-19 is in a safe condition, with no damage to people or the environment.”
Petrobras added that the platform in question was in the process of being decommissioned after ceasing its activity. Authorities were notified by the oil company and an investigation into the accident was launched.
