New Delhi:
Nithya Menen, who won the National Award in the Best Actress category for her role Thiruchitrambalam, watched the shooting days of the film and shared a long message of thanks on Instagram. The first frame shows Nithya Menen and her co-stars Dhanush, Prakash Raj and Bharathiraja. The men are seen dressed in traditional South Indian ensembles while Nithya is seen wearing a white salwar suit. The album features a series of BTS photos from the movie. By the way, the movie turned 2 years old today. Nithya began her note with these words, “2 years of Thiruchitrambam today. We all couldn’t meet for this, but it’s still a celebration. I think it’s poetic justice that my first National Award should come to us through this film. What an experience it’s been.”
Thanking fans and congratulating her on the success, Nithya wrote, “Thank you to everyone who called me, who jumped for joy, who were so overwhelmed and couldn’t speak. To everyone whom I’ve never met but who have so much love for me in their hearts and bless me from afar, and I always wished for it so fervently that I felt as if they had won themselves over. What a blessing it is when people root for you so personally.”
Thanking the National Awards judges, Nithya wrote, “This is a real thank you to the regional and central judges of the National Awards 2024 for recognizing and awarding this film. For recognizing that even performances that look simple from the outside are not easy to do. And this is also a remarkable job to prove this and you have helped me to do it successfully.”
Nithya Menen thanked her actors and acknowledged their contribution in the film, “Thiruchitrambalam every award that we get is due and distributed equally to all four of us. As I have never before been a part of a film where the lead actors have contributed equally to the entire performance of the film, it is difficult to find a place where there is more talk about rumors than the truth. Nithya shared the award with Manasi Parekh who won for her role in Kutch Express (Gujarati) at the 70th annual National Film Awards. After her big win, Nithya Menen told the Indian Express, “Honestly, I didn’t know they announced the National Awards. It might sound unusual, but actually I live under a rock. I like being separated from the hustle and bustle. I didn’t expect it at all.”
Directed by Mithran Jawahar, Thiruchitrambalam features Dhanush and Nithya as best friends Thiru and Shobana. In the film, Thiru shares a good relationship with his grandfather (Bharathiraja) but struggles to connect with his father (Prakash Raj), who is a police officer.
