The First Chief of the Capital Command (PCC) in Paraguay, Nelson Gustavo Amarilla (featured photo), Norteño, was arrested in Cascavel (PR), on Sunday night (22/9).

Considered the number 1 PCC on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, he was trying to escape in a Land Rover when he was approached by a team from the Border Police Battalion (BPFron), of the Paraná Military Police (PMPR).

Seeing the police approaching, Norteño tried to escape, but was stopped. During the approach, he showed fake documents with Paraguayan identity.

With an extensive criminal record, including arrest warrants for murder and kidnapping, Norteño is accused of leading illicit activity in the region, being the prime suspect in the 2018 murder of businessman Paulinho Dionizio Ribeiro.

Police consider him one of the last great leaders of the faction. The criminal was taken to the Federal Police (PF) in Cascavel, where he will remain under the supervision of the Justice Department.
