Construction disaster in Germany. Part of a hotel collapsed in Kroev. Police said one person died and eight others, including a child, remained trapped in the building.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night, around 11 pm. in the town of Kroev in Rhineland-Palatinate in western Germany. According to police, a floor of the hotel collapsed. There were 14 people in the building at the time of the accident, 5 of whom managed to escape.
“There is also a small child among those trapped in the hotel.. But at the moment he is sleeping peacefully and we are in contact with (his) parents,” a local police spokesman told the Bild daily.
As stated in a police press release, “eight people are still trapped in the building, some (suffered) serious injuries”. “Emergency services are in contact with some of them,” he added.
