Outriders Jakub Górnicki funds club magazine change

Outriders is a reporting collective, founded in 2017 by Anna Górnicka and Jakub Górnicki. It was created thanks to a crowdfunding campaign.

Outriders’ head of journalism Jakub Górnicki recently reported on Linkedin about the changes awaiting the project. – We’re getting closer! I admit that two weeks ago I was nervous about what the response would be, but only in the last few days our monthly support has increased from 60 percent to almost 90 percent There is so little left for the Warehouse to survive and the first attempts have been made. We are changing our business model and want to become completely “dependent” on readers. I encourage you to provide financial support and join the Outriders Patrons group – wrote Górnicki.

The editorial report on Patronite shows that the project currently has 470 patrons and monthly payments of PLN 9,755. There is still a long way to go to reach the goal. only 3 percent to get a monthly support of PLN 10,000. zloty.

We are getting closer and closer to achieving our goal at Patronite

What is the financial security of the project like today? – Outriders is supported by Patronite donations, Outriders Club rent, and a grant. The budget is currently tight for the next six months, with the rest to be settled. Due to the change in business model, we are aware of some temporary nervousness, but this is the best course of action for us and we are excited about the prospect of achieving greater stability. The subsidy model is ineffective in the long run – says Jakub Górnicki in an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl.

The magazine is currently published three times a month, previously four times. Our interviewee admits that “it won’t be long before things get back to normal”, that is, four issues. But recently the situation was much worse. The magazine came very close to limiting its operations to two issues per month. We wanted to verify whether the recipients’ need for its existence was so important that they decided to continue to keep it together. We are pleased with the results”, he highlights.

“There is stress, but it is positive”

On Linkedin, Górnicki admitted that the new business model presupposes a greater dependence on readers. What exactly will this process involve? – Increasing support for Patronite and developing the Club in organizing events. It is an event space where we organize our events and rent them to commercial entities – he explains.

The friendliness of the recipients is not always enough to guarantee the financial stability of certain projects. Jakub Górnicki admits, however, that the Outriders team is not afraid of changing the funding model. – There is stress, but it is very positive. It is a revolutionary change for the organization, but we feel that it is a good test after seven years, a new challenge and each new sponsor makes us very happy – he concludes.
