Tonight we will find out the winners of the 49th Gdynia Feature Film Festival. And for now, the so-called During the Small Gala, extra-regulatory prizes, prizes in short film competitions and extra-regulatory awards are announced.
Magnus von Horn’s film “Girl with a Needle” won the most non-statutory awards. The award was presented to him by journalists, representatives of Polish film festivals and reviews abroad, arthouse cinema associations and a youth jury. Tanja Grunwald, who worked on this film, received the award for best direction.

“The Girl with Needles” is a dark story about a woman who, after World War I, unable to have an abortion, gives birth to a child and gives him to a woman who finds a family for an unwanted newborn for money. However, the truth about his activities turned out to be tragic.
“Golden Kangaroo”, popular among directors, was awarded to Xawery Żuławski for the film “Kulej. Two sides of the coin.” Tomasz Włosok, who plays the famous boxer in this film, Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo in 1964 and in Mexico in 1968, received the Crystal Star “Elle”.
