Oppo released the F27 Pro+ without AI features in June, despite promising that AI would be available across its smartphone lines.
Today, the company confirmed that the Pro+ midranger will receive the four Generative AI features on August 22 via a software update. We also learned that a vanilla Oppo F27 5G midranger is in the works and that it will “come soon.”
As announced, the F27 Pro+ will receive an OTA update with the features of AI Eraser 2.0, which removes background objects; AI Smart Image Matting 2.0, which crops objects into stickers; AI Studio, which generates images from drawings, and AI LinkBoost, which improves call quality and optimizes network usage.
Coming back to the F27 5G, we know virtually nothing about the new phone, aside from the fact that it will have a similar camera design with a single large circle for the three cameras and a single LED flash. We expect Oppo to share more details in the coming days and weeks leading up to the event.
