The OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro could launch by the end of the year, as per claims made on social media by a tipster. Since their debut, the OnePlus Ace series smartphones have remained exclusive to China, and the upcoming phones will likely continue that trend. While the OnePlus Ace 5 could be powered by an existing chipset, the top-of-the-range Ace 5 Pro is rumored to have Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipset under the hood.
The development builds on a leak that emerged earlier this month that included hints at some of the specifications of the standard OnePlus Ace 5 model.
OnePlus Ace 5, Ace 5 Pro Launch Schedule (Expected)
In a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo, tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) shared details about the likely launch timeline and chipsets powering the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. The OnePlus Ace 5 could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which currently powers the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and other flagship phones.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro will reportedly get the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset under the hood, which is set to launch at the next Snapdragon Summit, which will take place from October 21 to 23 in Hawaii. It won’t be the first smartphone to get it, though, as Xiaomi has reportedly secured “exclusive first-to-market rights” for its rumored Xiaomi 15 Pro.
Both smartphones are expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, likely in December. The OnePlus Ace 5 series is also expected to get “super large” silicon batteries and a redesigned design.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Specifications (Expected)
As per previous reports, the OnePlus Ace 5 could feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO display. It could feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main camera. The handset could be powered by a 6,200mAh dual-cell battery with support for 100W wired fast charging. While details about the alleged design of the smartphone remain unknown, the report suggests that it could feature the alert slider that has become synonymous with OnePlus smartphones in recent years.
