“We are at risk of breaking the river embankment on Wyspiańskiego Street! Please evacuate as soon as possible. Services will come soon to help. Make sure to evacuate to the higher floors. The operation to save the embankment will start soon, but we must be prepared for the worst. Let’s stick together!” – appealed the mayor of Nysa in a recording published on social media.
In an update posted on Facebook, he announced that from 5pm to 8pm Polish Waters is reducing the dam’s water flow from 1,000 to 800 m6. per second. “It is time for a safe evacuation and repair of the damaged embankment” – wrote Kordian Kolbiarz.
