More than 800 benefits
The basic child benefit in Poland is the Family 800+ benefit. Under this program, each child, regardless of the parents’ income criteria, receives PLN 800 per month. It is due to each child immediately after birth. The application must be submitted within three months after the birth of the child – then you can count on compensation from the date of birth. If the application is submitted after this deadline, the parents will not receive any compensation and the benefit will be calculated from the date of filing the application.
In subsequent years, you will also need to remember to submit applications. The benefit period runs from June 1 to May 31, and applications can be submitted from February. If parents submit their application by June 30, they can count on equalization of payments. If they submit it after this deadline, the compensation will be forfeited and PLN 800+ will be charged from the date of submission of the application.
“Active Father” Benefit
Starting in October 2024, the government launches another program – active father. Its main goal was to provide financial support to working parents in paying for childcare – both in the form of daycare and babysitting. Parents whose children use such forms of care will receive PLN 1,500 in funding per month.
However, the working parent anticipates that children of non-working parents will also receive additional money.
“Actively at home” benefit
“Actively at home” is a benefit of PLN 500 per monthwhich will be paid to parents who cannot take advantage of the “Active Parents at Work” and “Active in Daycare” programs.
It will be available to parents of children aged 12 to 35 months, without fulfilling the condition of the parents’ professional activity.
The “Active at Home” benefit is available to:
- mothers or fathers, if the child lives and is supported by them, also in the case of alternating care
- the child’s true guardians.
The Actively at Home benefit is due for each child in the family, aged between 12 and 35 months (from the first day of the month in which the child turns 12 months until the last day of the month before the child turns 36 months). The child is entitled to the full amount of the benefit also if the entitlement to the benefit arose during the month. For example, in a situation where the child was taken in by his/her own guardian for education in the middle or at the end of the month.
The benefit is paid regardless of family income.
The “Actively at Home” benefit will replace the Family Assistance Capital (CPR) and is not due if family care capital has already been collected for a given child in the total amount of PLN 12,000. zloty. The maximum total amount of family care capital and benefits actively received at home for a given child cannot exceed PLN 12,000. zloty.
The application can be submitted electronically from October 1, 2024
