No matter how much we praise Shah Rukh Khan, the compliments never seem to be enough. In his decades-long career, the Bollywood superstar has entertained his fans with various films. But even if you think you’re a die-hard SRK fan, chances are you’re not aware of his showbiz debut. No, it’s not the 1989 TV series Fauji. King Khan made his way into the entertainment world with an English language film where Annie gives it to them. The comedy drama featured Shah Rukh as a gay man. Writer-activist Arundhati Roy wrote the film’s script.

Directed by Arundhati Roy’s ex-husband Pradip Krishen. where Annie gives it to them revolves around idealistic student Anand Grover/Annie (Arjun Raina). Instead of focusing on his studies, he envisions utopian solutions to solve the problems India is facing. The film captures the life of a student in Delhi in the late 1970s. Arundhati Roy essays the character of Anand’s bohemian girlfriend in the film. Manoj Bajpayee, Rituraj Singh, Himani Shivpuri, Raghubir Yadav and Roshan Seth played supporting roles.
