Buckingham Murders, directed by Kareena Kapoor, hit theaters on Friday, September 13. The mystery thriller directed by Hansal Mehta has got off to a good start at the box office. On Day 2, the film earned Rs. According to Sacnilk’s report, 1.90 million in the domestic market. The plot revolves around a grieving policewoman who moves to another city after her child’s murder and finds herself investigating the disappearance of a missing child. Ranveer Brar, Keith Allen and Ash Tandon also play key roles in the film. Buckingham Murders marks Kareena Kapoor’s debut as a producer. The film is jointly produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan under their banners Balaji Motion Pictures and Mahana Films.
On September 6th, the makers of The Buckingham Murders sparked excitement among moviegoers by dropping a new poster for the film on Instagram. Kareena Kapoor expresses her gloomy face partially towards the camera. “A thrilling pursuit of the truth is about to begin with Detective Bhamra! Only one week to solve,” reads the side note. Buckingham Murders is Kareena’s third collaboration with Ektaa Kapoor after Veere Di Wedding and Crew.
Kareena Kapoor plays the character of Jasmeet Bhamra aka Jassi in Buckingham Murders. On September 3, the actor attended the film’s trailer launch event in Mumbai, where he revealed what drew him to the role of Jassi. She said: “I think a mother’s love has no language. It’s a feeling. So I think as a mother I understand that a mother’s love has no particular language. It’s in her eyes – her love, her pain, you can see it in her eyes. It is important. I think that connected me to the character… There was so much soul in this that I felt like this was the right moment to know this character and play it.”
The Buckingham Murders has been released in two versions, one in Hinglish and one dubbed in Hindi.
