Veteran Telugu actor Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya got engaged to his girlfriend and actress Sobhita Dhulipala on Thursday (August 8). Recently, Nagarjuna opened up about his son’s relationship and said that he “found happiness again”. Speaking to Times Now, the actor said, “It (engagement) went very well. I’m very, very happy. It hasn’t been easy for Chay or the family. The breakup with Samantha) depressed him a lot. My son doesn’t show his feelings to anyone, but I knew he was unhappy to see her again… Sobhita and Chay love each other.
He added, “Only close relatives were present. We chose this day as it is very auspicious. Both families consulted Nakshatras and when we were told that August 8 was a very auspicious day, we decided to go ahead with it.” Asked about the couple’s marriage plans, Nagarjuna said, “Not right away. We opted for a hasty engagement because it was an auspicious day, and since Chay and Sobhita are very sure they want to get married, we said, ‘Let’s do it.'” Sobhita’s parents and sister were there, my wife Amala.
The actor further shared that Sobhita’s parents “love” Naga Chaitanya. She said: “They really like Chay. Can’t blame them. My son is a gem of a boy. He deserves happiness. I’m very proud that both my boys have turned out to be great men.”
Asked about his bond with Sobhita, Nagarjuna said he knew the actress even before his son Naga Chaitanya met her. Chay met Sobhita two years ago. But I’ve known him for six years. I saw him in the movie Adivi Sesh Goodachari and liked his job. I told him that. Since then we have had many conversations about film, life and philosophy. Sobhita is a well informed girl,” he concluded.

For the uninitiated, Naga Chaitanya was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. They married in 2017 and announced their separation in a joint statement in October 2021.
