MUX-L2 covers Rybnik and surrounding areas. There was a change in the local multiplex offering on Friday. – We launched the second TV Republika channel on the already existing MUX Lokalny Channel 23. To receive the news and journalistic signal of Republika, you need to tune in to channel 51. Tomasz Sakiewicz, President of TV Republika, announced the launch of a new channel with a general thematic profile. Initially it will be broadcast online, but work is underway to expand its distribution, the broadcaster said.
Will there be a change in the name of Telewizja Republika?
The launch of the new station on the local multiplex was described in more detail on the X website (formerly Twitter) by Jarosław Olechowski. – In the next few hours, our second channel Telewizja Republika Plus will start broadcasting on digital terrestrial television on the local MUX-L2 TVT on channel 23. We are starting to build the distribution of Republika+ outside the Internet! Until now, we have been broadcasting the signal of our news channel Republika on channel 23 of MUX-L2 TVT (in parallel with MUX-8). Now on terrestrial television it will only be available on MUX-8 on channel 51 – he explained.

He did not respond to our questions about plans to broadcast the new Republika TV station on other local multiplexes. It is not known whether a similar change will occur in the case of experimental multiplexes (Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Katowice) and local multiplexes (Jelenia Góra, Częstochowa, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Wrocław, Świdnica, Lubin, Głogów). The broadcaster also does not want to reveal whether it will ask the National Broadcasting Council to change the name of the satellite station from Telewizja Republika to TV Republika+ or Telewizja Republika Plus.
The Sakiewicza station has two licenses. The recently obtained terrestrial license for Republika allows it to broadcast an information and current affairs channel. Until now, the channel has been broadcasting on the basis of a satellite license from TV Republika. This concerns universal stations.
Two republics offering similar programs
In both licenses, the channel name must be visible on the screen. – According to the information I received from the Regulatory Department, the program broadcast via satellite should be called TV Republika, and the program broadcast on terrestrial TV should be called Republika. These are the requirements specified in the license – Agnieszka Gniado from the office of the chairman of the National Broadcasting Council recently told Wirtualnemedia.pl.
In recent days, the inscription “Republika” has appeared next to the Republic logo (the letter R), available terrestrial and through pay TV operators. An additional channel has been launched on YouTube, which instead of some current affairs channels broadcasts replays of the broadcaster’s programs: “W Ruchu Miłosz Kłeczek” or “Hits w Polsce” with Oskar Szafarowicz. The logo of this station is slightly different. The main news programs, such as “Dzisiaj” with Danuta Holecka or “Express Republika” with Rafał Patyra, are broadcast simultaneously on both channels.
For now, the reach of the additional channel is limited to the Internet. Over time, it will appear on cable networks and satellite platforms. – We have been saying for a long time that we have several different business ideas that will be developed. Republika Channel covered with additional channels. We are in negotiations to attract investors. This is an ongoing process. We are currently considering three channels that are at different stages of engagement.
