A 37-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a metal guardrail at Km 45.7 SC-406, in Pântano do Sul, in Florianópolis, this Sunday afternoon (22). The identity of the victim was not disclosed. He would have suffered a sudden illness.

According to the Military Highway Police (PMRv), only the motorcyclist was involved in the accident. The part where the collision occurred was a curve. As a result of the collision, according to Dr. Samu, the victim suffered a traumatic brain injury.

The car driver who overtook the motorcyclist reported to PMRv that the motorcyclist suddenly accelerated his vehicle, “as if he was unconscious”, and collided on the bend.

PMRv also reported that the motorcyclist’s family members reported that he suffered from epilepsy, which could have contributed to the accident. The lack of braking or skid marks on the asphalt also raises the possibility of a sudden illness causing the motorcyclist to collide with the guardrail, according to police.
