What will the new minimum wage be in 2025? If we assume that the employee will not benefit from, for example, the youth tax benefit or pay contributions to Employee Equity Plans, then his/her net salary will be approx. PLN 3,510.92 per hand.

However, the hourly wage, assuming that a given person is employed on a mandate contract and works 168 hours per month, will amount to approx. PLN 22.03 net per hour.

Change in inflation and minimum wage

In recent days, there has been much speculation that the government would increase the minimum wage in connection with the new inflation forecast for 2025 included in the budget law. We then asked economists whether such a measure was possible for those in power.

– We think so. change in the inflation forecast in the draft state budget compared with the assumptions in the draft state budget of June this year should not result in a change in the level of the minimum wage, compared to the government’s previous proposal of PLN 4,626 gross per month – said Łukasz Kozłowski, chief economist of the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs, in an interview with Gazeta Prawna.

At that time, trade unionists stated that the national minimum should, however, be changed.

OPZZ indicated that the Council of Ministers is obliged to determine the minimum wage for the next year in accordance with the provisions of the Minimum Wage Law. Failure to verify the minimum wage with the new inflation forecast may result in its being challenged in proceedings before the Constitutional Court and its unconstitutionality”, they argued.
