More than 100 soldiers of the 5th Chemical Regiment from Tarnowskie Góry began operations in the flooded areas. Their main task was to disinfect contaminated objects and areas.

Three disinfection teams are already in Brzeg, Opole. There, a special center receives requests from the regional government.

For now, the soldiers will work in contaminated residential buildings, schools, hospitals and other public administration facilities in the towns of the Kłodzko Valley and the Opole region.

Water carries animal remains, cleans graves, industrial plants, sewage treatment plants, etc. it carries all the pollutants that pose a threat to this population – said Major Arkadiusz Kustra in conversation with RMF FM reporter.
