To reduce the impact of forest fires and promote sustainable developmentgovernor of Chihuahua, Maru Campos went to Situriachi Dam to complete the delivery and reforestation of 1.2 million trees that will provide vitality for Sierra Tarahumara.
With the help of Leonor Pintado, deputy director of Fundación Grupo México Environment, the state president distributed the final 220 thousand copies that will improve the quality of life of 10 thousand residents of the municipalities of Balleza, Bocoyna, Carichí, Cuauhtémoc, Cusihuiriachi, Chihuahua, Guerrero, Guachochi, Madera, Maguarichi, Ocampo , Uruachi, Urique and Nonoava.
With an investment of more than 60 million pesos, the State Government guaranteed the reforestation of 1,136 hectares and maintained another 49,273 hectares in 33 municipalities in the state, thanks to the financing of 128,000 daily wages.
“Thank you for helping us plant these trees, helping us green and giving life to the mountains,” said the Chief Executive to the brigade members, volunteers and students who received the plants.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Grupo México Foundation reiterated that the collaboration strategy will continue, and invited the public to join this effort with public and private initiatives.
