The mayor of Ilhéus, Mario Alexandre (MDB), known as Marão, was the target of a raid in a Federal Police (PF) operation on suspicion of corruption, embezzlement of resources, money laundering and gang formation.
According to information from G1, the Federal Court authorized the search of Mario Alexandre’s home and office in the city hall.
The searches also included Bento Lima (PSD), a mayoral candidate allied with Marão and former secretary of Ilhéus Management, former municipal attorney general Jefferson Domingues Santos, two other individuals and two companies.
