The case occurred in the Itajuba neighborhood, in a semi-detached house. When police arrived at the scene, they found the gate of the house torn off, the glass door shattered, and the living room on fire. Still frightened, the victim reported that she received help from neighbors to put out the fire.
She said her ex-partner had been threatening her for months and that day, at around 8pm, he called her to warn her that he was going to burn the property down. She quickly went to the scene and called the police, she said.
She also reported that she had all the threatening messages she had received from her ex. In one of them, he said that he would “tear her up completely,” according to the PM. At first, the man was nowhere to be found and, when agents returned to the woman’s home, they realized that the man had set the place on fire again.
