One 68-year-old man arrested by Federal Police in Valençain Costa Verde do Rio, in the Hildebrando Lopes neighborhood, below allegations of storing more than 17 thousand files containing images of child sexual abuse. In the same operation, two other men were arrested in the state of Rio de Janeiro. One of them was arrested in the Penha neighborhood, in the West Zone of the capital, and the other in the Apollo neighborhood, in São Gonçalo, in the Metropolitan Region. So far, the operation has arrested 56 people across the country.

The operation, dubbed “Terabyte,” also included 141 search and seizure warrants at several locations. The name of the operation refers to the amount of material the criminals were storing, with “terabyte” representing a large storage capacity, reflecting the volume of illicit files the targets had.

The Federal Police also highlighted the importance of parents and guardians monitoring and guiding their children about internet use and safety outside the internet.
