Lula returns to Mexico after the plane suffers a technical malfunction

The plane carrying the President of the Republic, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, from Mexico to Brazil, suffered a technical malfunction after taking off from Mexico City Airport, on the first Tuesday of this month.

According to a memo from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), the presidential plane VC-1 experienced a technical malfunction on the route between Mexico and Brazil. While safety procedures were being implemented, the plane was forced to return to Mexico City Airport.

“After successfully implementing safety measures to resolve the issue at hand, the pilots wait for the necessary fuel consumption to return to the same take-off airport, change aircraft and return to Brasilia,” the FAB informed, through a memo.
