The new historical series “Jogo com Sombras” will be broadcast on TVP1 on Sundays, at 8:20 pm, starting September 15th. It is a noir crime film with cinematography by Adam Sikora and direction by Kinga Dębska, whose action takes place in Stalinist Poland. The story of espionage and love of the daring prison escape of doctor Helena Bielawska (played by Natalia Rybicka) presented in the series has its roots in the war. On Sundays after the series, viewers will see The 11th season of the program “Farmer Wants a Woman”.
On Saturdays at 20:20 a new detective series “Profilerka” will appear. It will be a 12-episode story full of mysterious puzzles that will be solved by the title character, Julia Wiger. The main roles will be played by Wiktoria Gorodeckaja and Michał Czernecki.
Ukrainian series in TVP1’s autumn schedule
Another new feature from the public broadcaster is “Café com Cardamomo”. This is a production featuring Polish and Ukrainian actors. The plot of the series is based on the best-selling book “The Melody of Coffee in the Key of Cardamom” by Natalia Hurnicka. The main role is played by Paweł Deląg. The series will be broadcast on Channel One on Saturdays at 5:35 pm.
“Commissioner Alex” will be broadcast on Fridays instead of Saturdays at 9.05 pm This is not the only change regarding the series. In the new season, the action of the series will move from Łódź to Warsaw. The next season of “Ojca Mateusz” will be shown on Thursdays. Channel One will show the new Turkish series “Wuthering Heights” on weekdays at 2 pm, while on Wednesdays at 9 pm, viewers will watch the British crime miniseries “Abandoned”, based on the prose of Harlan Coben.
TVP1 will also change the broadcast of the “Reporterzy” program from 8:15 pm to 6:25 pm. After the show, viewers will watch the Spanish series “Akacjowa 38”. The series will be broadcast on TVP1 from TVP2, where it has been broadcast for years. In turn, “One in Ten” will move from TVP1 to TVP2. The game show “Jaka to Melody?” will return to Channel One and will again be hosted by Robert Janowski, replacing Rafał Brzozowski. TVP1 viewers will also see new episodes of “Klan” and the series “Korony Królów. “Jagellonians”.
The new season also features 14 premieres and two new productions from Teatro Televisivo. The audience will see, among others: the play “Faith, Hope, Love” by Ödön von Horváth, directed by Agnieszka Glińska, who is once again cooperating with TVP, and “How I Didn’t Kill My Father and How I Regret It” written and directed by Mateusz Pakuła. The premieres also included the play “Salomei’s Silver Dream” by Juliusz Słowacki, directed by Piotr Cieplak and produced for the Teatr im. Helena Modrzejewska in Legnica. All performances of the Television Theatre will premiere on TVP1 and TVP Kultura.
Polish television is also excellent football. TVP1 will show UEFA Champions League matches, which viewers will watch on Wednesdays at 9:05 p.m. Nations League matches featuring the Polish national team will be broadcast on TVP2.
“The Wonder Years” is the most important new program on Polish TVP2
It will be included in TVP2’s autumn schedule new entertainment program “Wonderful Years” with Barbara Kurdej-Szatan in the lead rolewhich hilariously pits boomers against millennials. The boomer team consists of leading Polish musicians, athletes, actors, comedians, journalists and media personalities. Millennials are popular influencers, actors and singers from the younger generation. The team composition changes every week. Broadcast on Sundays at 4:15 pm.
Dr. Katarzyna Kasia and Prof. Jerzy Bralczyk will present the series “As they say – Kasia at Bralczyk’s” at Dwójka. Broadcast on Sundays at 5:55 pm, the program aims to popularize the Polish language through interesting and accessible discussions.
The new season of “That’s How It Was!” with Kacper Kuszewski as host will be broadcast on TVP2 on Thursdays at 8:45 p.m., while “Bet on a Million” will be broadcast on Fridays at the same time. On weekdays at 4 p.m., new episodes of “Wheel of Fortune” will be shown. The game show will have new hosts: Agnieszka Dziekan and Błażej Stencel. “Familiada” will celebrate 30 years on TVP2 – unchanged broadcast on weekends at 2pm.
The second season of the series “Krucjata” will air on Dwójka, which viewers will watch on Thursdays at 9:50 pm. Its action touches on one of the most tragic phenomena of the modern world – drug addiction. The series stars Sebastian Dela and Zofia Jastrzębska. Polish television Canal+ has also acquired the series “King”. The adaptation of the famous novel by Szczepan Twardoch will be shown on Dwójka on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 pm.
From September 8th, “The Voice of Poland” returns to TVP 2’s schedule. The 15th season of this program will be broadcast on Saturdays at 8pm. The new hosts will be Paulina Chylewska and Maciej Musiał. Baron and Tomson from the Afromental and Lanberry teams will again be coaches, joined by Kuba Badach and Michał Szpak.
Another new feature on TVP2 will be a book magazine published in a relaxed environment, which brings literary inspiration to readers every week. “Good Title”, broadcast on Saturdays at 5:35 pm, will be hosted by Agata Passent and Szymon Kloska.
New for the autumn season are the programme “Giving Word Maciek Orłości” (TVP1), during which the journalist will talk to figures from the world of Polish culture and art, “Poczet Świrów Polskich” (TVP2), written and hosted by Jan Wołek, and a cookery and detective programme “The Top Shelf of Taste” (TVP2) with the participation of a young generation chef, Orson Hejnowicz, and the author of famous Wrocław detective stories, Marek Krajewski.
Dwójka viewers will still be able to follow the fate of the heroes of the popular series: “The Colors of Happiness”, “On the Signal” and “M jak miłość”, which remains the most popular series on Polish television.
