LOT suspends its flights over Iran. What does this mean for passengers?

LOT Polish Airlines suspends flights over Iran – RMF FM journalist Krzysztof Bierenda found out. This is the aftermath of the missile attack launched by Iran yesterday against Israel.

Iran fired nearly 200 missiles without warning airline pilots. The situation has become so dangerous that many will now avoid this part of the world.

This will primarily be felt by LOT Polish Airlines passengers traveling or intending to travel to India. Their journey will be about 40 minutes longer.

Yesterday evening, our national airline flight from Warsaw to Mumbai had to be rerouted to Azerbaijan. Then it headed to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and from there to India. Just to bypass Iran.

In addition, since mid-August, LOT has bypassed Israel and Lebanon – and will do so until further notice.

This will prolong the trip and also affect… higher Ticket prices. But safety – as we hear – is the most important.
