The fatal accident of a Liverpool FC football fan has marred the Champions League match between AC Milan and the English Premier League club. According to a statement from Liverpool FC, the supporter died near Bergamo Airport in Italy on Tuesday while travelling to Milan.
Jurgen Klopp’s former club said in a statement that they were deeply saddened by the tragic death of a fan in a car accident in Bergamo early this morning. Liverpool FC professional players wore mourning ribbons at the Milan match.
The club also announced that its staff in Milan were working with local police and consulates. Liverpool fans who were affected by the disaster were also given support.
