Liga Paulista de Futsal and Diadora launch ball for competitions for People with Intellectual Disabilities

Liga Paulista de Futsal and Diadora announce the launch of the first futsal ball with an exclusive visual identity for Intellectually Disabled and PWD competitions.

Made in yellow and blue colors that refer to the symbols that cause Down Syndrome, the most common genetic disorder, with around 150 thousand cases recorded in Brazil each year.

The launch of the “Diadora LPF Diversidade Ball” will be held on September 21, coinciding with the National Disability Struggle Day. The following day, the opening round of the LPF Down Syndrome and LPF DI (Intellectual Disabilities) competitions will take place at the São Paulo Futebol Clube Gymnasium, in Morumbi.

“We would like to thank Diadora for developing a personalized and special ball for PCD athletes, which will mark the start of LPF Down and DI. It will be a great event for these athletes, who will have the same experience as the professional game”, said Edmundo Trevisan, director of PCD Competitions at LPF and Ituano Futsal Down.

“Diadora has been a Futsal player since the beginning and believes in our initiative, where all the balls have the LPF visual identity, one for each category. And with the LPF Down and DI it is no different. Where the “Diadora LPF Diversidade Ball” goes beyond the court. It is a symbol of socialization and inclusion of athletes who love the sport”, added Daniel Graça, LPF Project and Innovation Coordinator.

LPF Down and DI will hold the preliminary round on September 22, starting at 10 am, with the participation of the teams: São Paulo FC PCD, Ituano Futsal Down, Incas Futsal Down, Projeto UP Futsal Down, Projeto NASCE, SEME Itaquaquecetuba, APABB.

All matches will be broadcast on the official LPF YouTube channel.
