The Pico 4S – a supposed mixed reality headset – has surfaced online via leaked photos. It is being developed by Pico, a ByteDance-owned company. The leak shows the design of the headset, which appears to have a cover inspired by Apple’s mixed reality hardware, the Vision Pro. The development comes months after the Pico 4S was spotted on a South Korean certification site, listing several of its specs and hinting at an imminent launch.
Pico 4S Mixed Reality Headset
According to a report by Android Headlines, the Pico 4S mixed reality headset has a glass front with two cameras embedded in the center and two on the top and bottom. It also appears to have a USB Type-C port on the right side and a button on the left side. The headset is said to have a cushioned cup for user comfort.
Also visible is a headband with thick padding at the back of the user’s head, along with a dial that allows for adjustment of the fit.
The alleged images suggest it could feature ring-less handheld controllers similar to other mixed reality headsets like the Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive XR Elite. The controllers appear to have a four-button setup, with two likely being for action controls and two for navigating the user interface (UI). A single joystick completes the button layout, while it could also include a trigger placed on the bottom half of the controllers.
The report also includes photos of possible accessories for the Pico 4S. It could reportedly come with wrist straps for the controllers and a grey carrying case.
Pico 4S Specs (Expected)
The Pico 4S mixed reality headset is said to be powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, the same chipset that powers the Meta Quest 3. It could feature some improvements, though. The SoC is said to have two 2.05GHz cores and four 2.36GHz cores, paired with 12GB of RAM.
It is said to have model number A9210 and may support Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7.
