The Lava Blaze X launched in July with the Dimensity 6300 chipset and a fancy 6.67″ curved OLED display. That model was relatively expensive for a Blaze, with a starting price of ₹15,000. Now, Lava is introducing a more affordable option, also using the D6300, but with a lower starting price of ₹10,000 (keep in mind that this is an introductory price and includes a bank offer).

Aside from the chipset, the Lava Blaze 3 5G is actually closer to the Blaze 2 5G than the X. That means it has a 6.56-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. For comparison, the X has a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display with an FHD+ resolution.

Coming back to the chipset for a moment, it is paired with 6GB of RAM (and up to 6GB more of virtual RAM) and 128GB of storage (UFS 2.2), which is expandable via microSD card up to 1TB. The phone launches with Android 14 and the promise of “No ads. No bloatware.” The 5G modem supports all the sub-6GHz bands that have been snapped up by Indian carriers.
Additional connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers. The fingerprint reader is mounted on the side and can unlock the phone in 0.24 seconds (that’s three times faster than the face unlock system).
Moving on to the camera system, it’s also closer to the Blaze 2 5G, but with a new twist – the Vibe Light. This is a secondary ring light that has a much warmer tone than the main ring light above it. As for the cameras, there’s a 50MP main and a 2MP secondary on the back, along with an 8MP selfie hole cut into the display.
The battery is nothing special, a 5000mAh Li-Po cell with 18W charging via USB-C. A full charge from 0 to 100% takes over 2 hours (135 minutes).
The Blaze series tries to retain at least a few premium features despite its price tag, like the glass back. For this model, you can choose between Glass Blue and Glass Gold colors. The device is essentially the same size as its predecessor, measuring 164.3 x 76.2 x 8.6mm and weighing 201g.
