““If Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz says he wants a referendum, then when it happens his conscience will not interfere, but now it does? Something really needs to move forward,” Anna Maria Żukowska, a left-wing MP, told Radio Zet. The politician was referring to the views of the head of the Polish People’s Party on the legalisation of abortion and civil partnerships.
The president of the left-wing parliamentary club in the Sejm commented on the booing of Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz by the participants at Campus Polska.
The Deputy Prime Minister faced the anger of the people
she said.

Żukowska added that such a public reaction should give Kosiniak-Kamysz a clear signal regarding abortion and civil partnerships.
The victory of the entire coalition on October 15 was achieved thanks to the women’s vote. I would very much like the Prime Minister not to forget this. If Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz says he wants a referendum, then when it happens his conscience will not interfere, but now does it interfere? Something really needs to move forward.
– she added.
Various projects
The left-wing MP stressed that at the stage of working on the law on civil partnerships, the Polish People’s Party did not raise any major objections to Minister for Equality Katarzyna Kotula.
There are two acts, on partnerships and on the introduction of regulations. The introductory act will be issued by the government soon, in September. Minister Kotula did not know that the PSL, which had previously raised no objections and supported it, also said that Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz himself was against it.
– she said.
She also joked that if the Sejm adopted the PSL project, the partnerships would be closed in the basement.
What is the difference between the PSL project and the idea that civil partnerships would be celebrated in a notary’s office, somewhere in the basement? Some people jokingly say this at ARiMR. I wonder why. Same-sex couples should feel treated equally. A notary is not a government employee.
– she concluded.
Anna Maria Żukowska, who uses slogans related to equality of beliefs and views on her banners, cannot understand that her coalition colleague might have a different opinion from hers. It is worth asking the question here: Why does Kosiniak-Kamysz, who tries to present himself as a conservative politician, want to remain in a government with the Left? The answer suggests itself…
