And when everyone tried to count who had circled the Earth more times – Richard or his late father-in-law, the general, the first Polish cosmonaut (out of respect for the memory of this remarkable man, I will not mention his name), it turned out that the detention of the former MEP and his current wife concerned a completely different case, well known to readers of “Newsweek Polska”. We return to the scandal of the Collegium Humanum, a pseudo-university described and examined, among others, by Renata Kim, who discovered how tortuous the paths of educational fraud can be, generating fat bucks at the expense of students who are fooled by the bottle, trust the institutions or cynically want to buy something relatively uncomplicated, a document that gives the right to sit on one or another bench. Media reports indicate that the reason for the detention was Emilia H.’s fictitious job at the university, which paid her a generous and realistic salary, which was in fact a bonus for her husband, who tirelessly lobbied for CH.
What don’t you understand? Because I, for one, understand everything. I then tried to find out what was going on with the former MEP’s wife and I was green with envy when I discovered that she had managed to complete three postgraduate degrees in just three years! She must be a very talented person and a local patriot, since they all study at the same university, guess which one. And what’s more: she had already graduated in law from the University of Warsaw, the Russian Law School (this field of study was co-directed by the Moscow Academic Law University and the Lazarsky University) and also completed a one-year postgraduate degree in art history at the Collegium Civitas.
Accelerated education
I could not write that this educational path is not impressive, although the resentment I felt only reached the stars when I read in the publicly available CV of Mrs. Emilia H. that this courageous woman graduated from the Batory Secondary School in Warsaw in the years 1992-1994. And again: a blow to the heart, because it took me four precious years of my life to get to the final exams and pass the same exam in the same school, so I bow with my hat to the ground and say without unnecessary ado: “Emilia, you are very talented!” because we, Batory boys and girls, are traditionally close to each other, as another important graduate, Daniel Olbrychski, once told me on the phone. I will also ask my friends, because perhaps this two-year mode happened more often, but I did not catch it due to my natural idleness and emptiness.
There must have been something wrong with all this (although it is possible that it was just pettiness), because the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau decided to look into the case more closely and arrested the couple. The hastily organized night vigil with prayers in front of the prison was unsuccessful because the supporters went to the wrong place where you were staying. But in the end, what matters are dreams: you may want to get numerous diplomas, you may miss traveling to Jasło, you may want to receive an honorary doctorate from the Tashkent University of World Economy and Diplomacy. All you need is courage, assistants, a few scooters and a tractor-trailer.
