Elon Musk will conduct a live interview with Donald Trump on X tonight, marking a significant shift for Musk, who has recently voiced support for the former president, particularly after Trump’s attempted assassination. The interview is expected to touch on Musk’s increasing involvement in Republican politics, despite past disagreements with Trump over issues like electric vehicles.
Given Musk’s own interests, topics like Tesla’s future, electric vehicle regulation and space exploration could also come up. The two could find common ground on cryptocurrency, where Trump has positioned himself as a proponent.
After a delay, Musk finally got on the phone and the two discussed Trump's assassination. Trump on his attempted assassination: "Not pleasant. I knew right away it was a bullet. I also heard people yelling 'bullets, bullets.' It was horrible. One of the miracles was that nobody ran away. They saw that I was hurt. It was almost like they wanted to be with me."
Trump on immigration:
"I had all these policies that were so good. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden just let it go. We got everything through. We set records. They (Kamala and Joe) could do things now. These people are fake. She (Kamala) is more incompetent than he (Joe). We recently had 22 people come out of Congo, they are all murderers."
Trump reflected on Joe Biden's term in office, recalling how he shut down a pipeline that could have employed nearly 50,000 people. However, Trump said Biden approved the Russian pipeline. On his relationship with Putin, he said: "I had a good relationship with Putin. He respected me. We would talk a lot about Israel." Trump again called Biden "sleepy joe" and the worst president, saying that if Biden had been a good president, Russia would never have attacked Israel.
"We have a flawed government. We have millions of people coming in a month and then Kamala stands up and acts like she's going to do something. She had three and a half years and they have five months and they do nothing. He (Joe) said things that were so stupid. It's so sad. There are many more people killed in Ukraine. But if they win, the country goes bankrupt," he said.
