Mexico City.- Actress Julia Roberts will receive an honorary César Award on February 28, during the 50th French Film Awards, organizers announced.

Julia Roberts shot to stardom at the age of 23 with Pretty Woman alongside Richard Gere (1990), leaving her mark on the history of romantic comedies Notting Hill. Also in 2001, he won an Academy Award for his role as an activist in the film Erin Brockovich.

At 56 years old, she remains one of the most beloved faces in American cinema and is known for her commitment to humanitarian and environmental issues. This year, the honorary César Award, which recognizes the careers, was awarded to French director and actress Agnès Jaoui and British director Christopher Nolan.

Catherine Deneuve will preside over the 50th César Gala. Nominations will be announced on January 29.

At the 49th edition, the big winner was Justine Tritt’s Anatomy of a Fall (Cesar for Best Picture and Best Director).
