Police video of the incident was briefly available on YouTube. It captured the moment a production assistant began talking to a woman wearing a blue shirt and holding onto a railing as she stood on the railing of a bridge.
During the exchange, the Bon Jovi star, 62, slowly and calmly approached, waved at the woman and then began chatting with her.

“Thank you to Jon Bon Jovi and his crew for helping the woman on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. On Tuesday night, Bon Jovi helped coax her down from the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety,” reads a message posted by the Metro Nashville Police Department on social media.

Bon Jovi filmed the music video for their song “The People’s House” on the bridge, which remained open to the public during filming.
