The trial of a mother who allegedly killed her six-year-old daughter begins on Monday (9am) in the Bonn Regional Court. The 47-year-old was charged with manslaughter.
The woman is said to have suffocated her child on the evening of March 4. Rescue workers found the girl dead in an apartment in Bonn, and she died shortly afterwards in hospital.
The mother herself gave the hint. The woman had recently been rescued by passers-by from the Rhine River and taken to a clinic. She then told emergency services that her baby was lying in her apartment. The trial is scheduled to continue until October 10.
