Israel began a “limited ground attack” in Lebanon. The Army made the announcement on Stand X early Tuesday morning. A few hours ago, they began “limited, local, and targeted ground attacks based on accurate intelligence information against terrorist targets and infrastructure of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in southern Lebanon.” These targets are located in villages close to the border and pose a direct threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel.

The Israeli Air Force and artillery supported the ground forces with precise strikes on military targets in the region.

The conflict between Israel and the Shiite Hezbollah militia in Lebanon has recently escalated significantly. The Israeli army carried out intense attacks on targets in the neighboring country for several days, including Hezbollah weapons depots. Lebanon recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries.

According to a report issued by the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation “Kan”, the attack primarily targets facilities belonging to Hezbollah’s elite units. The aim of the ground attack is not to occupy territory, but to destroy military objectives.
