Apple is gearing up to launch its iPhone 16 series of smartphones, according to a Bloomberg report. The Cupertino company is set to launch its latest iPhone models on September 10, which are expected to replace the iPhone 15 series introduced last year. Apple is also expected to unveil new Apple Watch and AirPods models with new features at its next launch event. This year, Apple’s Pro models are expected to have slightly larger displays, and the company is also expected to equip its phones with a dedicated “capture” button.
Apple targets September 10 for iPhone 16 Series, new Apple Watch, and AirPods release date
Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 16 series of smartphones at an event on September 20, according to a Bloomberg report citing people with knowledge of the matter. Previous reports have suggested that the company will likely launch four models this year — iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. These devices could go on sale on September 20, according to the publication.
Apple is said to be equipping the iPhone 16 series with a capture button that can be used to quickly take photos, while the more expensive iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models could feature an improved ultra-wide-angle camera, 0.2-inch larger displays than their predecessors, and larger batteries.
While only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are expected to get Apple Intelligence upgrades later this year, all four models in the iPhone 16 lineup could feature Apple’s new on-device AI technology, as well as an overhauled version of Siri. These upgrades are expected to help Apple boost sales of its new smartphone models.
According to Bloomberg, new AirPods and Apple Watch models are expected to be unveiled at Apple’s next event. The company’s true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones could come in budget and mid-range versions, with the latter offering active noise cancellation support, similar to the high-end AirPods Pro (2nd generation) model that’s not expected to get an upgrade next month. On the other hand, the Apple Watch Series 10 will feature a larger screen while sporting a thinner body than previous models, according to recent reports.
