Paraná Clube has two groups interested in SAF, but is awaiting the election of a new president and members at the general meeting of creditors, scheduled for October.
With debts reaching R$130 million, the club is eyeing a new opportunity in 2025, when they will return to play in the first division Campeonato Paranaense.
In order for the SAF sale to proceed, Tricolor is seeking to remove a purpose clause that limits the use of Kennedy’s headquarters to sporting activities, in order to facilitate the auction of the property. The hurdle is one of the key sticking points in the negotiations.
The property purpose clause comes from municipal law nº 1550/1958, approved during the administration of Mayor Ney Braga. The standard states that the place must be for recreational and sports recreation purposes. The group is seeking public support for the repeal.
The proposal of one investor is around R$350 million, while the other investor is R$200 million. Although the offer has been submitted, Tricolor is trying to handle the process carefully, because there are still many issues pending.
The amount of R$350 million comes from a group of businessmen, one of whom has ties to the University of Santa Cruz, in Curitiba. According to ge, the group intends to pay off its debts and use the remaining resources to invest in football and structures.
