According to the spokesperson of the National Prosecutor’s Office, Prosecutor Przemysław Nowak, the investigation into this case was initiated on Thursday, 22 August, by a prosecutor from the Internal Affairs Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office. The notifications on suspicion of committing the crime of exceeding powers by Piotr Schab, Michał Lasota and Przemysław W. Radzik were filed by the Open Dialog Foundation.
The abuse of power consisted of the unfounded initiation and conduct of disciplinary proceedings against several dozen judges of the common courts who, in the exercise of the administration of justice:
– assessed the legality of the activities of the National Council of the Judiciary, established in accordance with the provisions of the Law of December 8, 2017,
– questioned the legality of the creation of the Disciplinary Chamber in the Supreme Court,
