The plane carrying President Andrzej Duda back from New York landed on the runway of Warsaw Chopin Airport only on the second attempt. The cause was a collision of another plane with the bird during landing. The intervention of the airport falcon was required.
According to RMF FM reporter Michał Dobrolowicz, right after the plane collided with the bird, the falconer car drove onto the airport runway. This way taking the spot where the presidential Boeing was supposed to land.
The president’s plane at that time had to depart for a place called second round against Warsaw.
A few minutes later he landed safely.
Airport officials stressed that This is a standard security procedure. And at times like this, there are a lot of birds around the airport, including crows.
