The “business” was organized by a family consisting of a father, a mother and their son, and had three accomplices. We worked in three areas.
In kyiv, the family and their accomplices created a network of hemp farms, where they grew and produced 1 kg of cannabis per day. Currently, all six people have been informed of the suspicion. This was reported by the press service of the kyiv city prosecutor’s office on Friday, September 20.
During the pre-trial investigation, two active “drug farms” and one that the attackers planned to open were identified. The production capacity was approximately 1 kg of cannabis per day. The finished “product” was sold in large quantities to trusted customers.
According to investigators, the “business” was organized by a family – a father, a mother and their son, with the participation of three accomplices. They worked in the Kyiv, Chernivtsi and Cherkasy regions.
During the searches, 25 kilograms of cannabis, more than 1,000 hemp plants, fertilizers, equipment, tools and means for growing and drying hemp were discovered and seized. In addition, law enforcement officers seized four briquettes containing a powdery substance – cocaine, with a total weight of about 4 kilograms.
According to preliminary estimates, the value of the seized “goods” is about 40 million hryvnia.
In connection with the organization of hemp cultivation and the subsequent sale of cannabis in Ukraine and abroad, six people were reported as suspects: the family and their accomplices. The perpetrators face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
