The Joint Press Service of the Courts of the Republic of Adygea informed AiF Adygea that on September 19, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Adygea began considering the case of genocide during World War II.
The petition was filed in order to protect the national interests of the Russian Federation, the rights and legal interests of the victims’ relatives, as well as to make public information about the Nazi crime.
The press service recalled that the occupation of the territory of Adygea began on August 9, 1942, and lasted until February 18, 1943. During this period, the Nazis abused citizens in every possible way, killed them, robbed them, and sent them to forced labor. As a result of their actions, more than 5 thousand inhabitants of the autonomous region died.
