Four young people were injured in an accident in Willich (Wiersen County), possibly due to illegal car racing, two of them in a serious condition. The police said that the two cars were driving at high speed in the evening when an accident occurred, according to preliminary findings, due to an overtaking maneuver.

An 18-year-old’s car crashed into a garden wall and came to a stop in the front yard. There were two 17-year-old boys in his car who were seriously injured. The driver suffered minor injuries. The other driver, also 18 years old, suffered minor injuries, while his 19-year-old passenger was unharmed. The injured were transferred to the hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. In particular, it will be verified whether the two cars competed in the race. The vehicles and driver’s licenses of the drivers were confiscated based on what police said was already concrete suspicion.
