It is worth noting that the Iguanas are gradually becoming part of the equipment of the Polish armed forces. Last year, the Armaments Agency signed a contract for the supply of approximately 400 units of these vehicles, and the first units have already been delivered by South Korea. The delivery process of all ordered vehicles is scheduled to be completed by 2030.
The iguana is a Kia KLTV
The Iguana, which is a modified version of the Korean Kia KLTV, is a highly mobile and off-road capable vehicle. It is powered by a 3-liter diesel engine with 225 hp, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is equipped with independent suspension and all-wheel drive, which gives it excellent driving characteristics both on paved roads and off-road. In addition, run-flat tires allow you to continue driving even after losing pressure.
Iguana provides the crew with ballistic protection in accordance with STANAG 4569 standard at level I, with the possibility of increasing this level. Standard equipment includes a rotating platform that allows the installation of various types of weapons, including machine guns, large-caliber machine guns and automatic grenade launchers.
The purchase of the Iguanas also involves the prospect of technology transfer to Poland. In the future, depending on the scale of orders, some components for these vehicles may be produced in Polish factories, which will be done by the Rosomak SA factories.
