“This is one of the hundred details of the Civic Coalition. I do not believe that the KO politicians were against its program,” Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, said on Radio Zet. The PSL leader was referring in this way to the words of the Minister of National Education, Barbara Nowacka, who said: “There will be no politics and partisanship in Polish schools as long as I am the minister.”
The Polish People’s Party recently announced a draft law on patriotic education. As Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz pointed out, the draft includes, among others: on regulations regulating historical and literary canons in Polish schools, as well as, for example, tourism education.

Minister of National Education Barbara Nowacka commented on the project in the “Event Guest” program on Polsat News.
There will be no politics or partisanship in Polish schools as long as I am minister and as long as my agreement with Donald Tusk is valid.
she said.
When asked about these words on Radio Zet, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz did not hide his surprise. The politician recalled that such provisions were also included in the Civic Coalition’s pre-election “100 specifics”.
Anyone can sign the project. I would not combine patriotism with partisanship or politics, but with love for the homeland. This is the fundamental difference. I think that this is what school is about: educating, teaching and showing certain values, including patriotic values. This is the mission of the school. Poland and patriotism are not for any political party. Patriotic education is simply necessary. It happens in many countries around the world. In the United States, students start the day by swearing allegiance to the flag, to the nation. We want to propose solutions related to trips to places of national memory. Program in honor of Professor Banach. This is one of the hundred details of the Civic Coalition. I do not think that the politicians of the KO would be against its program.
– he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister said he did not believe there were any political forces in Poland that could have problems with patriotic education.
This is the implementation of our program. I don’t think anyone in Poland is against patriotic education. I would like us to be aware of where we live and where we come from. Is visiting the Warsaw Uprising Museum partisan? The Battle of Warsaw in 1920 is partisanship. This is the great idea of building Poland on the basis of patriotism. I ask all groups to be open to this project, especially those with whom we are in coalition.
– he added.
A mysterious object over Poland
The Minister of National Defense also commented on reports of a mysterious object that crashed near Olsztyn.
It is likely that a weather balloon crashed in Orzechów, further research will show this. The services did not register any military installations in Polish space, so there is no army there. Was it a Russian balloon? This needs to be determined. Such situations happen. There are hundreds of weather balloons moving around, this needs to be checked.
– he said.
Frictions in the coalition
Asked about the partnership project, Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the PSL project is the only one that President Andrzej Duda can agree with.
Our bill is the only one that can be signed by President Andrzej Duda. It surprises me that some people submit their ambitious bills, hoping that if the Sejm votes on them, the president will change his mind. He will not change his mind, these bills will not come into force. Urszula Pasławska is responsible for the bill on the status of family members. I think that the presentation of this bill is a matter for the coming weeks. Our bill differs from Minister Katarzyna Kotula’s idea in that it does not mention anything about adoption and concerns the place where the marriage will be celebrated, in our opinion it should be a registry office.
– he said.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was also asked about another point of contention with the left, namely abortion.
Decriminalisation is the most far-reaching project, I cannot understand why, when voted on in the Sejm as it stands, the majority of deputies do not support such solutions. Why was our project, which has a chance of getting a majority, not voted on first? I encourage our coalition partners to vote on what is now possible. I am not taking away the rights of any community, but please do not take away ours either. I believe that the slogan freedom, tolerance, democracy, with which the left also identifies, and respect for oneself and one’s views, is what distinguishes us from the 8 years of PiS government, a party, a phrase.
– he added.
