Did you know it happens to be Afternoon Tea Week (August 12-18)?

Afternoon tea has recently been a popular choice for special occasions not only throughout the UK, but many tourists seem to enjoy the British tradition.

One place that is completely on board with the trend is Browns, where I got to experience afternoon tea for myself.

The brasserie celebrates the collaboration with Moët and Chandon with afternoon tea classics with some modern twists and a refreshing cold glass of champagne.

What more could you want? I got to enjoy three tiers of sweet and savory treats, and diners can experience this too when they visit one of the 26 bars and restaurants across the UK. I had to visit the Covent Garden branch in the west end of London.

Starting with sandwiches including the classic Ploughmans with Cheddar, sticky pickle and sliced ​​apple and a more modern take on the seafood sarni – a brioche roll with lobster tail in a Sicilian lemon and dill mayo which was delicious.

Moving on to the all important scone level, customers can choose from freshly baked flax or fruit scones, cream and strawberry or blackcurrant jam.

And finally, the afternoon tea ends with four sensational desserts, including mini carrot and orange cake and the quintessentially British Blackherrant Victoria mushroom.

There’s pretty much something for everyone when it comes to dessert, and you can’t go wrong with a Victoria sponge.

It wouldn’t be afternoon tea without a cup of hot tea and various options like breakfast and herbal tea.

Although afternoon tea can be enjoyed without an alcoholic beverage, for a small additional fee you can elevate your experience with one of three drinks from the iconic champagne brand Moët and Chando.

You can enjoy an ice-cold flute of either Moët & Chandon Impérial Champagne or Rose Champagne. Or if you want a cocktail with your meal, you can opt for the Champagne Cosmo, made with Discarded Grape Skin Vodka, Chambord and Cointreau, shaken with cranberry and lime and topped with Moët & Chandon Impérial Champagne.

As well as the classic afternoon tea menu, they also offer bespoke vegetarian and gluten-free afternoon teas, all accredited by Celiac UK.

As part of the launch, Browns Moët and Chandon will be offering exclusive luxury champagne trays to all guests enjoying the champagne afternoon tea from now until the end of August.

Unique coasters are custom made for the launch and are part of the pair; each featuring the iconic logo of partner brands. A pair can be collected by visiting more than once during the release period.

The afternoon tea menu is nationwide from 3pm to 5pm every day and from 1am to 4pm in their exclusive afternoon tea room in London’s Covent Garden.

Champagne Afternoon Tea – £35 per person
