“I went on holiday in Turkey – and I couldn’t believe the price of the food” | Travel news | Travel

A woman went on vacation to Turkey and was completely shocked by the price of food at the airport.

Hayley Duffy opened up about the situation on TikTok, where she claimed she doesn’t know how they cope. The hefty price tags were spotted at Dalaman airport and he called them a “joke”. In the video, he said: “Food prices at Dalaman airport are a joke. Wait for it… 20 euros a quarter pound. 20 euros.”

Since she shared the video, it has been liked more than 7,000 times, and people are quick to share their thoughts as well. Many couldn’t get over how expensive it was to try a basic steak.

It made Hayley furious as she just couldn’t believe how expensive it was. All he had to do was share his experience with anyone online.

One person said: “I paid me £120 for five to eat at McDonald’s.” Another wrote: “I’ve been going to Turkey for 20 years. This was my last year. It’s been crazy there.”

A third replied: “Dearest airport in the world.” Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “I still can’t believe people are paying. So many warnings on the internet. Eat first and have a snack.”

Others also said that many other airports are the same and the prices always seem to be expensive. Nevertheless, few people were amused by it. One even said Dalaman’s prices are “ridiculous” and admitted they think things can be overpriced.

It comes after tourists claimed that Turkey will be empty “within years” because prices have jumped so much in popular destinations.

Videos are popping up on TikTok with many people opening up about the situation because they can’t believe how quiet the country has been this summer. One traveler, known as slimwadie5, explained that he had seen a big difference in prices over the past year.

For example, he came across a speedboat trip that cost £120 for an hour. He added: “I went on a boat trip the other day, it was £20 and it was fine – it made sense.

“I went to Burger King and it was £5 – that’s cheap. I’m sitting in this seat now – a burger is £12. A water is £2 – it’s becoming like London prices.

“My sister and her little family said they’re not coming back because they’re just. I’ve seen some posts here where people say give it a few more years and Turkey is going to be dead.”

Burger King has been asked to comment.
