I tried the new Terry’s Chocolate Orange flavor and it was so nostalgic

Terry’s has introduced a new flavor to its iconic Chocolate Orange range, which has both fascinated and divided chocolate lovers.

This time, the beloved chocolatier has opted for a regular milk chocolate version, but does this new offering live up to the high standards of its flagship product? I took that test to find out and was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

When the iconic orange-shaped foil is opened, the familiar chocolate ball cracking ritual remains unchanged.

And according to the ad, I followed the instructions of the slogan: “Don’t tap, hit!”. With this, the orange splits open like a lotus to reveal 20 rich, creamy milk chocolate pieces.

The experience is as satisfying as ever, maintaining the playful tradition that Terry’s fans have come to love.

The new regular milk chocolate version departs from the traditional citrusy treat and aims to cater to those with simpler palates. And the first thing you’ll notice about this new flavor is its striking resemblance to the chocolates found in Christmas advent calendars.

The creamy milk chocolate is soft and sweet, evokes nostalgia that I can only compare to eating Advent chocolate on a winter morning.

It’s a comforting, familiar taste that many irresistibly prefer. However, taste is also a place where opinions can differ.

The regular milk chocolate is undeniably sweet, and its quality doesn’t quite compare to the other offerings in the range; i.e. the iconic orange and mint versions.

But for those with a normal palate, this new flavor is a dream come true. It’s uncomplicated and straightforward, allowing the quality of the milk chocolate to shine through without competing flavors. For die-hard fans of the original Chocolate Orange, however, the lack of signature citrus may be disappointing.

As for how it compares to the other flavors in Terry’s lineup, I’d say it doesn’t quite dethrone the reigning champ: Mint Chocolate Orange. With its refreshing spearmint scent, the formula offers a unique twist that perfectly complements the rich chocolate.

The new milk chocolate flavor competes with Terry’s Dark Chocolate Orange, Terry’s White Chocolate Orange, the original Chocolate Orange and of course several mini chocolates. Minis flavors are Orange, Exploding Candy and Mint Crisp.

While not yet their best product, Terry’s has once again proven their ability to innovate and delight, even if this latest offering may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Whether you’re a fan of the new plain milk chocolate or a favorite of the classic orange or mint flavors, Terry’s Chocolate Orange remains a beloved staple in the candy world.

And it’s also easy to get your hands on, with all the major retailers selling the chocolate treats. Most full size items retail for between £1.50 and £1.75.
