In Kielce, President Andrzej Duda stressed that the fair presents “a powerful Polish offer, both from the Polish Armaments Group and from Polish private sector companies”. He added that “the development of these fairs indicates the demand”.
We have had decades of peace, but now, unfortunately, a major war, the largest since World War II, is raging across the European continent and we need to be prepared to potentially repel the attack.
– said Andrzej Duda.
““We are spending more and more on defense.”
This is mainly done to avoid being attacked. This is exactly what we, as Poland, are doing today, and that is why we are spending more and more on defence, and that is why this year’s budget was already 4.2% of our GDP for defence. Next year’s budget, as we heard today from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, is planned to spend 4.7% of our GDP on defence, so almost 200 billion will be spent on defence in the next budget.
– pointed out the president.
We are signing new contracts, which is very important, not only for the purchase of equipment from the United States, not only for the purchase of equipment from South Korea, not only for Apache attack helicopters, but also for our domestic equipment, such as the Kleszcz light armored vehicle.
– highlighted Andrzej Duda.
Project in case of threat to the state
We also talked about building a new ammunition factory, because this is the demand today and the war in Ukraine has shown this very clearly. We need to improve every detail, and from this we draw conclusions about security procedures in our country, so I hope that a draft law, prepared by me and the National Security Office, on the direction of the activities of the Polish authorities in the event of a threat to state security will soon be adopted in our parliament.
– emphasized the president.
There are very important conclusions drawn from the exercises we conducted in Poland, but also from the experience we gathered during the war in Ukraine, so that the Polish state could function more effectively in the event of threats, be able to react more quickly and be able to react more efficiently so that soldiers have better operational procedures if this threat actually occurs.
– said Andrzej Duda.
Today, by our standards, we spend a lot of money on security, but we know why we do it. We know that if there is a heroic soldier, and we have never lacked them, he must, above all, be well equipped. The war that Russia started in Ukraine shows that if a soldier is well armed, he will stop the Russian invasion and stop Russian imperialism.
– pointed out the president.
“That way, they won’t have to fight.”
We want to provide our soldiers with weapons that are absolutely safe and that also provide the best possible protection against potential enemy attacks, precisely because we sincerely hope that thanks to this they will not have to fight and I deeply believe that in this way we fulfill our most important duty towards our fellow citizens, namely, we ensure the security of Poland.
– emphasized Andrzej Duda.
I would like to stress once again that I am pleased that this programme initiated by the governments of the United Right to strengthen the Polish army, to rapidly modernise it and to make huge purchases of equipment, is now also being continued, that this work after Minister Mariusz Błaszczak is now being continued by Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. I hope that this will continue to be implemented.
– observed the president.
Many congratulations to Kielce, to the city authorities, because this event is growing every year. It is also attracting more and more visitors. Keep it up. I hope that next year the next president will also come to this event, it is very important for Poland.
– added Andrzej Duda.
